Discover Your Beauty

There are 8 chapters of this book where Ann Craig is leading you through finding your inner and outer beauty published in 1973.

Chapter One : Look in the mirror.

There are three reasons why women desire to be as pretty as possible:
- to be attractive or desirable to the opposite sex,
- to compete with other women even seen in movies and on television,
- to indulge ourselves,
For many women this way of thinking is a problem as why women's body is not just a part of her personality as it is with men but a physical fetish.
Members of these types of groups often neglect their own appearance and focus only on their personality as any woman is capable to enjoy life, enjoys to be lovable as this is spontaneous desire of any man or woman.

Your beauty is part of your individuality as the way you move, react and feel as there is no strict way to define what beauty is.

The more a woman far away herself from "the ideal" notion of what a perfect body is the more she will feel defeated starting a war against her own body which is negative of what is supposed to feel as looking after yourself should be something you enjoy especially when seeing results using certain cosmetics, avoiding food you have allergies, having workouts,...
There are two steps in finding your own beauty.
Step one, stand in front of a mirror and find the things you love on your body and face and embrace all of that. Then look what others see on you, where you feel vulnerable and don't be to strict on yourself as any part can be changed if you wish upon it.
Francis Bacon said: 'There is no perfect beauty without some unusual proportion', and it's so if we look how Twigi was popular once and then Brigitte Bardot.
Step two, think about the little things you do every day that affect your body directly as washing the dishes without rubber gloves, not using hair conditioner after washing it, not leaving your house for days and not getting any fresh air,...
You don't need ideal proportions to enjoy your life with changing your personal habits and using all the products and services available not being to expensive without spending eight hours a day in doing so.

Chapter Two : Your face, mirror with two faces.

Your face is the most precious part of your being, not just the reflection of your personality but the way you express your deepest thoughts and feelings.
As your face expresses your mental health as so your entire skin expresses your entire medical condition.
It's funny to say that other people know your face much better than you as when you look yourself in the mirror you usually have a serious facial expression. People see you smile, see you when you speak and all of your spontaneous emotional expressions.

First thing we are starting with is what is your skin type: dry, greasy or normal. Most people have a mixture skin type mostly in so-called T zone (forehead, nose and chin being greasy).
• Greasy skin.
The most important thing about greasy skin type is that you clean it twice each day, early in the morning and in the evening after you use losion meant for cleaning any makeup washing it out with cold water and soap. After you dry out your face use soft refreshing lotion to soften the skin and close open skin pores, after that use moisture night cream. When using lotion leave it for couple of minutes on your skin before removing it and use beard shaving brush to spread the lotion all over your place to jumpstart blood circulation too.

Moisture and grease is not the same.

Morning care should be the same. Washing your face and using lotion as a makeup foundation.
• Dry skin.
Unlike greasy skin type dry skin type should avoid soap and cleansing lotion. Makeup on dry skin is cleaned with cleaning cream, then with hot and cold water.
The most important thing about dry skin is to use moisture cream regularly.
• Normal skin.
Treating normal skin is not that different than treating greasy skin except using mild soap only in the evening care.

Getting a tan is a special joy for many as its something people mostly get during their holiday summer activities.
People should avoid being out on the Sun from 11AM until 16PM as not getting any sun burns and remember to use sun lotion after every two hours out on the Sun.

Many women wonder why they are getting acne after turning 21 year of their life. The reason is the same as in puberty hormones producing more sebum than necessary.
The first thing you should do is turn to your dermatologist who will prescribe the right, low fat diet, medicine, medicine lotions and having Sun tan.
As it comes to individual zits its better to wash that area three times a day than to squeeze it out possibly leaving a scar and a dark spot on your skin.
If you do decide to squeeze the zit out using clean napkin and squeeze from both sides until you notice clean red blood. That should stop any possible infection.

If you have hair above your lips the best way to solve this problem is to buy in your local pharmacy 25 grams of 5% to 10% oxigen and 20 drops of amoniac. Leave this mixture on the hair areas 5-10 minutes until it becomes see through.

If your face skin hair is major problem for you use electrolysis to solve this issue permanently.
With electricity doctor will destroy each of your face hair roots so they don't grow out again. Advantage of this the doctor will leave see through hair not making an issue.

Masks.
Dry skin needs a wet napkin mask only once a week while greasy skin needs proper mask twice each week. Important thing is to leave them on your entire face and cleavage for 10-15 minutes.
Dry skin mask: 1 egg yolk, 1 coffee spoon of honey, 1 coffee spoon of olive oil.
Greasy skin mask: 1 egg white, half a lemon juice and apothecary bought magnesium carbonate.

Chapter Three : Wonderful skill of make up.

How to become pretty in 10 steps.
1. Make sure your face is clean and moisturizered.
2. After putting make up foundation add darker shade of foundation on both sides of your nose.
3. Powder your entire face with your face shade colour.
4. Use eyeliner.
5. Glue on artificial eye lashes.
6. Use mascara on both your and artificial eye lashes.
7. Use blush high on your cheek bones.
8. Use darker lip tone lipstick on your upper lip.
9. Have a good hair brush of your and your artificial hair if you use it.
10. Put carefully your artificial hair clips on your own hair.

In every culture throughout history women and in some places men used different types of make up having different meaning most often to pretty themselves.
Queen Nefertiti used green eye shadow and black eyeliner while Queen Elizabeth The First used white powder led with arsen in it to whiten her natural complexion or a beladona a form of opium meant to give eyes a somewhat dreamy sensation. In one period of time it was thought makeup is not designed for any descent woman until makeup cosmetics boom in 1920s.
No make up makeup appearance is just as complex as Queen Nefertiti appearance.
If you thought there is no set of rules in using make up you are wrong.
Rule No 1.
Start with clean skin freshened with either lotion if your skin is greasy or moisture cream if your face is dry..
Good foundation creates basic colour, covers small imperfections and creates a good foundation for the rouge colour you will use.
Foundations are produced as three types, liquid, cream stick, powder and even as aerosol.

Slowly use your fingers and add foundation on your face evenly.
Oval face only needs blush on its cheekbones.
Pear face shape requres darker powder shade on the middle of your forehead and jaw line bones.
Square face shape requres blush on your cheekbones and darker powder on outside lines of your face.
Heart shape face requres blush on outer cheekbones and highlighter on your chin.
Long face shape requres blush on the cheekbones, darker tone on outside of your face and highlighter on the chin.
Round face shape requres below cheekbone blush and outer jawline darker tone.

When it comes to blush remember that dark skin tone needs clearly red tone, olive and pale needs peach colour blush and light skin needs pale pink colour blush.

We can find eye shadow makeup as sticks, gelly, cream and in powder form. If you have dry skin only use cream or powder eye shadow make up.

Before putting mascara remember two things to put artificial eye lashes and to line in your eye brows using a brow pencil shade darker than the colour of your hair.

Eye liner is the last thing when we talk about eye makeup, pencil one or liquid one is going to cover artificial eye lashes and connect them with your real lashes.

Choosing the right rouges depends of the occasion and your lips shape. Top of your fingertips is the best place to try out the shade as it resembles your lip colour the most.
Here are few tips when it comes to lips makeup.
- to shrink your lips use use a darker pencil on its edges before putting your desired lipstick,
- to make your lips plumpy put the red lipstick on its edges before adding pale shimmering lipstick,
- glow lipstick put upon your usual lipstick will give your lips wet effect,
- use brown lip pencil on lip edges and fill up the gapes to get sensual look,
- use lipstick brush for fine edges on your lips,
- to make your upper lip plumpier use pink or brown lip pencil,
- you can make plumpier lips seem smaller using lip pencil to mark the areas to be covered with lipstick.

Every change of how your lips look as depends of the foundation you use.

Chapter Four : Braids, straight and curly hair.

Healthy hair means healthy body, and it is in the roots of your hair lays its secret. If hair glends have to much sebum hair usually uses to feed itself you get greasy hair. And opposite, if your hair glends do not produce enough of sebum your hair will become dry and prone to get broken ends and to much eczema on your hair skin.

Hair is made of ceratine a kind of protein and it grows either straight or curly.

Number of hair on your head is between 90.000 to 140.000 when we talk about healthy hair and it grows in average 1-2cm each month. One hair can stay on your head for a month or for several years  as each of them has its period of growth as why  keeping skin of the head healthy and therefore roots is important to stop the hair falling off due to bad root condition.

Hair does not grow quicker if it cuts down often.

Not all people go grey in the same period of time as its something you inherit from your parents. What is interesting is that the white hair grows stronger than the original hair.

All hair types adore vitamin B complex pills found in beer yeast good only for your hair roots but for skin and nails too.
Even our grannies knew about the one hundred rule of brushing your hair before bed time but its only meant if your hair is not greasy as it streems your blood circulation and produces sebum.

Never borrow either comb or hair brush from anyone.

Comb and hair brush should be washed in mild amoniac solution and then in soap at least couple of times each month.
It's true the more you wash your hair the more it becomes greasy as of sebum glends produce.

Brush your hair from neck towards your forehead, rince it with mild water and put enough shampoo to slowly using your fingers wash your hair skin and then hair.
Some women add lemon juice, mostly blondes, when rincing hair from the shampoo, others use vinegar while many use eggs for their dry hair.
Today we have fixators either on their own or as a part of the shampoo. There are three kinds of it: one already a part of the shampoo, one you add when rincing the shampoo with water and third used once your hair is dry.
Never brush your hair when it's wet not to get broken hair or plucked roots.
Slowly use the towel to take in extra of watee from your hair and use either curling tongs or curling iron to make your desired hairstyle.
Do not make long term curls or hair straightening by yourself, turn to your hairdresser for this type of hairstyle.

There are three things to think about when changing your hair colour:
1. your skin tone,
2. your natural hair tone and
3. your occupation.

Whether you are going to lighten up your hair with bailage you should leave it to your hairstylist as it demands a "hat" from which he is to lighten parts of your hair.
There are three types of it:
- it will wash out after the first wash,
- it will wash out after several washes and
- the ones which are permanent and need to be repeated every month and a half.

Round face looks lovely with short hair and long bangs.
Square face looks lovely with curled hair to cover the jawlines.
Long face looks lovely with curly hair and long bangs.
Heart shape face looks lovely with cheeks short hair with parts of it covering your cheeks.
Low forehead face looks lovely with straight bangs and even really short hair.
Face with bigger nose looks lovely bangs and your upper part of your hair being accentuated.

Chapter Five: Bathroom source of beauty.

Your bathtub is your personal source of beauty to be used at least three times a week. While it's recommended for the water to be mild the shower gel should be for your skin type. Most people have either dry or normal body skin.
To prevent geese skin rub those areas of your skin to cause circulation which is the reason besides skin being dry geese skin can appear.
Laser hair removal is still the best investment a woman can make into her own body if not tired of waxing her body or using electrolysis.
The only difference between shaving, electrolysis and waxing is how it affects the skin as electrolysis besides its efficiency does not in any way damages the skin.

Shaving does not speeds up the process of hair growth or makes any difference on your body hair.

After bath hour is a perfect time to dedicate yourself to your feet and hand nails.

Self pedicure and manicure is not that hard to do it yourself.
- remove leftover nailpolish with  nail polish remover,
- use sharpen tool to shape up your nails after cutting them. When it comes to your toe nails its best they keep a square shape type,
- use the anti cuticle liquid to softly back it down with a cotton stick to a desired shape,
- always use see through protection nail polish afterwards before deciding which colour you are to use,
- nail polish is to be firstly used at the middle of each nail then it's sides.

Chapter Six : Magical word diet.
When starting to think of a diet remember that in average woman takes in 2.000 worth of calories daily.
The count of calories should be equal to the daily activity each woman does and this is the first thing to think of as how much calories do you intake daily without anything to spent it on. It is why when speaking of diet physical activity goes right beside it.
There are low calorie saltine you can use instead of the meal to satisfy food cravings or slimming pills many take to remove any food cravings before meals.
The best diet is the low carbohydrate diet if you wanna loose weight including bread, potato, candy, pastry, cookies.
No diet should start without consulting with your doctor and even nutritionist.
First thing to do is to determine your goal weight depending of your height and body type.

Just think if you intake on daily level 3.500 calories more than 2.000 you will get each day half a kilogram to your body if you don't have any physical activity.
There are three rules to follow.
1. Buy skinny.
Buy fresh vegetables and fruits, fish and poultry and skip buying candy, cacao or chocolate cookies, pies, ice-cream and juices.
2. Cook skinny.
There are really good recipes and cookbooks you can use to cook delicious meals using skinny food not noticing the difference between it with fat food if we are to call it as so.
3. Drink skinny.
Stick to diet juices, coffee and no sugar tea, low fat milk and rather have a glass of wine than some harder drinks.
4. Eat skinny.
It means only eat during meal times without taking any snacks in between.
5. Think skinny.
Forget about any candy, chocolate, French fries, mashed potatoes, pastries and similar.
It does not mean changing your pattern of meals during going outs ir special occasions as why people on diets call them cheat days. Think of food as cosmetics as the food we intake can be seen on our face and body.

Calories consumption.
Reading, writing, watching television, playing game boards, office work and similar.
80-100
Cooking, washing dishes, personal hygiene, ironing clothing and similar
110-160
Cleaning the floor, washing windows, gardening and similar.
170-240
Handwashing clothing and bed sheets, bowling, fast walking, playing golf and similar.
250-350
Swimming, playing tennis, running, riding a bicycle, skiing and similar
350+

Chapter Seven : Mind your figure.

Exercises three times a week keep your body in check meaning you get to move up all the muscles you don't usually use during your daily tasks.

Chapter Eight: Joy of combining.

Open your wardrobe and make three piles.

Pile No 1.
Your dearest pieces of wardrobe.
Pile No 2.
Bad pile, things needing repairing and all drycleaning.
Pile No 3.
All the things you don't use at all.
When starting thinking about shopping think about your first pile and what it takes to complete an outfit.
Then combine several outfits from the first pile or even do it for entire week ahead od you. Think which piece from the second pile you can add to outfits and how to rearrange with a sewist things from the third pile for not to throw them away.

* Questions and answers about plastic surgery.
Rise of plastic surgery began after the Second World War, in that time there were 15.000 surgeries per year having that number rise to 500.000 in 1969. at the USA.
First thing anyone wanting to do a surgery is to do is to visit a psychologist to determine the real reason a person is having a surgery.
For most it's simply vanity and popular thing to do while changing parts of your body can do wonders for your self confidence.
Unlike surgeries recommended by the doctor costs of the surgery are to be paid by the patient himself.

Nose.

These kind of surgeries do not leave any scars if the goal is to shape it up using parts of your ear or hip and they last up to 45 to 90 minutes. Unlike shaping larger nose where the doctor needs to take away with proper tool extra parts of it being unecesary part of the nose bone needing four or five days staying in the hospital.
